Teeth Whitening

As time passes, your teeth can become discolored. It can develop a stain or a discoloration due to the tobacco, coffee, tea or red wine you consume. You may have been prescribed some medication that have caused your teeth to become discolored as a side effect. In some cases, it may just be because you’re getting older.

But you don’t have to live with stained teeth. You can have your teeth whitened. Teeth whitening can be done at your home or you can have a more advanced procedure in our office.

At Home

This is the more cost-effective option, and its effects are more gradual. This is the option you choose when you don’t want your coworkers or classmates to notice that your teeth have suddenly turned brighter overnight.

Our dentist can recommend a kit that you can take home so you can do this on your own. The kit offers a special whitening solution and a custom-fitted mouth guard for you so that the solution is always in contact with the enamel of your teeth. The whole process can take 10 to 15 treatments before you may be satisfied with the whiteness of your teeth.

Once or twice a year, you can then come in and get touchup treatments to help maintain the bright smile you’ve achieved.

In-Office

But what if you have a hot blind date or a class reunion this coming weekend? If that’s the case, an at-home whitening kit won’t do. You need immediate results and you can get that with our in-office teeth whitening treatment.

The process involves applying a protective cream over your gums and soft tissues, before we apply the whitening gel to your teeth. We can then use a laser to speed up the whitening process of the gel.

This can take just a single visit to complete, though there are exceptions when more visits may be necessary.
